ABOUT THE PROJECT

Around the world many private reserves and lodges are still fully unaware of the dangers humans can pose, as vectors of this lethal amphibian pathogen. As travelers venture from location to location, their boots, and other equipment pose a serious environmental risk if not properly sanitized. Many of these travelers and even the property owners themselves are potentially threatening biodiversity without even knowing it.

The Chytrid Awareness for Resorts and Ecolodges (CARE) Campaign is an HCI initiative to spread awareness of the Chytrid amphibian pandemic to private land holdings, and ecolodges to equip them with best practices and basic information.

To help inform both owners of and visitors to these lodges and reserves, HCI has produced a free of charge weather resistant poster translated into multiple languages for these properties to display. The poster includes a QR Code and weblink where inquiring minds can learn more about the topic. These materials come at no cost to the property, with our only request being the posters are displayed in an area visible by guests for maximal impact.
